Genealogy Pictures Data Tips and Misc Jess' ROOM! Back to Giacomelli.COM

Welcome to the home page for our bundle of joy, Jessica Marie Giacomelli:

BORN: Thursday, May 10th, 2001 at 4:49PM (16:49)
WEIGHT and HEIGHT: 8 pounds 5 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long (ooo, a biggie)

Kel's water broke at 7:AM after Casey (our Golden Retriever) decided to get a nervous stomach all on the bedroom floor (guess she was nervous about the whole ordeal). We went to the hospital, no pains yet, just a little crampy, and after confirming the obvious, admited us to Frankford Jefferson Hospital, Frankford Torresdale Campus.

We were in the room at 10:AM, and the Pitocin Gods started to work their mojo by 10:30. At 3:PM, Kel said the heck with this breathing crap, gimme the drugs! So the Epidoral went in (another story here). The threats to Dan's life ceased, a smile came to Kel's face, but all was not well... Jess has a surprise waiting for us... keep reading.

The actual birth card (above) and wrist bracelet (below) from the hospital

At 4:PM, Dr. Simon (fellow Petocin Diety), came in and said that Kel wasn't progressing as fast as he liked. We were capped at 5, 40%, -2 (for those who have a baby you should know what this means). It was decided that it was best to have a "C" section, especially since the baby was showing signs of stress.

I can't believe I watched the whole thing, thought it was pretty cool too, but I'll spare you the details. Kel was awake for the whole thing, and once the head was out, we both heard Dr. Simon yell "1, 2..." WHAT? TWINS? I had to look... "3, 4!" The chord was wrapped 4 times around Jess' head,
so she wasn't coming out the other way anyway. After she was out, as I kissed kel on the cheek (had bad breath), I went over to see my Jess for the first time, picked her up, and brought her over to Mom, put Jess' cheak to her lips, and the family started (minus Casey of course, our Golden Retriver).

This site is not only about Jess, but to share our experiences and knowledge of getting ready for a baby with others... You can consider this site as not only a tribute to our baby girl, but as a thank you to everyone who helped us prepare for this life change. Enough about the site...

Want to see her? Check out the Genealogy Page, she's there, and look where she came from (Dan and Kel), then you be the judge who she looks more like (lie to me please...)

What site wouldn't be complete without the Doctor's and Hospital Staff that made it all possible (Kel was there for 4 days thanks to the "C" section)...

Of course we have tons more Pictures to look at... like the one of me teaching Jess to be a Tech Geek, gotta start them early!

Ok, I'm an ANALyst right? (notice the first 4 letters). I decided to track Jess' progress outside the hospital. It's based on the same data sheet and information that the hospital nurses use. After getting permission to take the medical records, I continued to track her progress. Something you might want to try for your next bundle of joy. Check out the Data section to see what I mean. (no comments on the ANALyst joke please)

We received so many Tips from friends, family, and occasionally strangers that we had to post some of them, you will also be able to look at other Miscellaneous tid-bits (Warning: some material may be a tear jerker to some).

When you're done, you can check out the other great sites that haven't been completed since they were started: Giacomelli.COM and Giacomelli.NET (ALWAYS under construction)
cmon, I have better things to do, like try to bill over 40 hours, or at least get leading edge projects!
